Well, the long-awaited magic show at Confetti Eddie's Magic Parlor in Dallas was a huge success! Both shows sold completely out, and everybody had a great time. After the 11 pm show, we went to Eight Bells Tavern to perform a close-up show for guests who wanted to see more magic. That's me on the left with Magician Confetti Eddie, our musician Poppy Xander, who was nominated for Best Keyboard Artist by The Dallas Observer, and Craig our bartender.

Just had the time of my life performing my strolling magic show at the annual Perkins family Halloween party. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of me actually performing, but I did get some shots of the cool costumes that everyone wore. Thanks to Andrew and Monica Perkins for inviting me to share my magic with all the guests.

The City of Wylie just celebrated its third year in a row of the week-long magic festival, which ended last Thursday evening with walk-around magic by myself and fellow magician Derrel Allen, aka Mr. Goodfriend, for the guests at Boo On Ballard, and the stage show, which featured our very own Ava Rose Byers, and comedy magic team Fred & Bobbie Becker, who you may recognize from their recent appearance on Penn & Teller Fool Us . I had a great time at the Dallas Magic Club meeting the other night. You will never guess who showed up as our special guest - Sean Wilson, the grand-daughter of Mark Wilson, one of my favorite mentors in magic, and the first professional magician that I ever shook hands with. (He is mentioned in my bio on my website.) We shared stories of our experiences with Mark and his wife/stage assistant Nani Darnell, and it reminded me of how much we all depend on inspiration from others in our goals in life. Dal Sanders, past national president of the Society of American Magicians, presented Sean with her membership certificate. Afterward, a small group of friends hung out at Vernon's Pub down the street to further our discussion of life and all things magical.

Just had a great time at the Dallas Magic Club monthly meeting. We are back in our home at Theater 166, which is now Crossroads Theater, on Parker Road in Carrollton. Every year over the Labor Day weekend, magicians from all over the world gather for the Texas Association of Magicians convention. Of course, I was there with my camera to photograph the event, one of the best magic conventions I've ever attended. Among the talent lineup were, Nathan Phan from Masters of Illusion; his performing partner Richard Ramirez, who also won the trophy for best closeup performance; classic magic expert David Charvet; mentalist team Christian and Katalina; The Other Brothers; Bizzaro from Las Vegas, and many others. Had a great time at this month's Dallas Magic Club meeting! We have been scheduling a series of mini-lectures for the Club on a variety of magic-related subjects, and this month it was my turn to present a mini-lecture entitled "Conquering Stage Fright", which was very well-received by all in attendance. Next month we will be enjoying another mini-lecture on performing for children by our own club members Dal and Cinde Sanders , who have their own weekly TV children's magic show. Just had a great time at this year's Summer Splash party. This is THE party for local professional entertainers and their families and friends. That's me on the far right, enjoying drinks with award-winning magician Trigg Watson , along with Caleb Westeen and friends. A bit of sad news: Eugene Burger, listed among the top most influential magicians and authors in the modern history of performing magic, has passed away from cancer at the age of 78. He was best known for his signature piece, "Gypsy Thread", one of the most beautiful close-up magic performance pieces that I have ever witnessed. Eugene was one of my closest friends in the magic industry, and helped me with my magic show in more ways than I can even begin to count. I got to perform with him on stage at a show here in Dallas some months ago, but I never thought that it would be the last time that I would ever see him. Fortunately, before he left us, he passed along his Gypsy Thread routine to me, and I will be performing it in my shows as a tribute to Eugene and his magic. He will be missed.

Just had a great time at this month's meeting of the Dallas Magic Club . In an effort to make the meetings as educational and fun as possible, we scheduled our own Dr. Mike Smith and Geoff "Doc" Grimes to present a mini-lecture on the works of magician, philosopher, teacher, and author Robert E. Neale, whose writings, though virtually unknown to most magicians, have been a major influence on some of the greatest performers in the business. Had a fantastic time performing my walk-around magic at this year's ADD Radio Show Christmas In July party at The Expo Bar in Dallas. This was my third year in a row to perform for this charity event, and the party (and my magic) just keep getting better and better! A special thanks goes out to ADD Radio DJ Robi Nickolai for putting on this party. Looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Just had the time of my life entertaining guests at a Mother's Day celebration magic show at Brookdale Retirement Center in Fort Worth. That's me presenting a complimentary bottle of champagne to Sharon, our guest of honor, produced out of thin air from my Magic Gift Box.

This has been an awesome week for magic in Dallas! The Dallas Magic Club just hosted its annual officer installation banquet and magic show at Brookhaven Country Club, and after being a member of the Club for over eighteen years, I have finally been elected as the Club's new Vice-President! This is a huge responsibility for me, since I will serve as the Club's program director, being in charge of the content of the monthly meetings, among many other duties. W. . .O . . .O . . .O . . .W!! I have just had the most magical weekend ever! First, I was invited to perform my magic at a farewell party for one of my own mentors, Dr. Lawrence Hass, associate dean of the McBride Magic School in Vegas, who is moving out of the Dallas area to Tennessee. (That's him in the first photo opening the show with some of his favorite rope magic.) As if that wasn't an honor enough, I got to share the stage with another of my mentors, Eugene Burger, considered as one of the top ten best magicians in the WORLD, who closed the show with his signature piece, the famous Gypsy Thread, a true masterpiece of magic. The next day, Eugene hosted a lecture on the subject of improving our performance of magic, and I had the privilege of attending and helping out on stage. A truly awesome, magical weekend! Had a great time at this year's PartyFest Trade Show in Dallas . A special thanks to Dal and Cinde Sanders for the invitation. And, of course, I have to thank expert caricature artist Ben Vincent for his super sketch of me. I've never looked so good!

I just saw the Dallas Film Festival's screening of the movie "Dealt", a documentary about Richard Turner, one of the top sleight-of-hand artists in the world. The movie was awesome, but even more awesome was a surprise visit by Richard Turner himself! That's me in the photo with Richard. I was invited to entertain moviegoers with my strolling magic before the show. Now, I can say that I've opened for Richard Turner! What an event! 

Had a great time at the Penguin Magic Expo here in Dallas last weekend. Got to see (and photograph) a few friends that I haven't seen in a while, including Diamond Jim Tyler and Gregory Wilson, both pictured here selling their magic to an enthusiastic audience, along with Paul Richards demonstrating his phone levitation, and Mark Mason, one of my favorite magic dealers. And, of course, that's me pictured with our Dallas Magic Club President Frank Seltzer, who attended the expo to encourage anyone interested in learning magic to join our local club. Stay tuned . . . If you've been following me on social media, you will remember that I was invited to perform my magic for the Lory Masters Birthday Party & Roast back a few months ago. Well, I was FINALLY  able to get a couple of photos to post from the photographer that covered the event. The first photo is of me entertaining guests with my strolling close-up magic. The second photo is of me on stage in The Rose Room at Station Four Night Club on the strip in Dallas, producing feather boas, beer bottles, and who knows what else from my Magic Gift Box. I was a big hit! There was also a video production crew there to cover the stage show. Stay tuned . . . If I'm lucky, I may be able to get a video of the show! You won't want to miss it.

The Dallas Film Festival is showing a movie called "Dealt", which features an old friend of mine, Richard Turner, regarded as one of the top sleight-of-hand artists in the whole world! I've seen Richard perform up close, and he can do things with a deck of cards that no one else on the planet can do. And, believe it or not, he is blind! That's right, a blind sleight-of-hand artist. If you are even remotely interested in magic, you must see this movie. But, there's more! I have been hired to perform my strolling magic in the lobby for the moviegoers! I have just experienced one of the most unusual, bizarre magic lectures of all time. This is Kieron Johnson, a professional magician from the UK, on his very first lecture tour in America, teaching us some of his favorite magic effects, including producing HOT COFFEE from a sealed soda can, burning a hole through a deck of cards to find the location of a signed card, and my personal favorite, producing a freely chosen, signed playing card in a solid block of ice! But, wait! There's more! After the lecture, I got invited out to dinner with Kieron and a few friends, where he demonstrated his ability to swallow a coin, then regurgitate it back up heads or tails, your choice! Of course, our dining experience would not have been complete without a further demonstration of his ability to swallow the coin, then snort it out his nose, with the help of a pair of pliers that he conveniently carries with him. Ever wonder what magicians do in between shows? We create new magic, or create new ways to perform old classic magic. Right now, with help from New York filmmaker Amanda Reyes, I am working on a video clip to send to my friends at Penguin Magic Company, one of the leading creators and manufacturers of new magic for professional magicians. I can't reveal all the details just yet, but I can tell you that I have invented a revolutionary new way to perform an old classic card trick, Card Warp, using a solid card that can be handled by the audience. If you know how the old method works, you will be really impressed by my new creation. Penguin Magic has already contacted me wanting to see the video. I will keep you posted as things develop... WHAT A WEEK!! The Dallas Magic Club was honored by a visit from Vinny Grosso , former Society of American Magicians national president, and the only magician to fool Penn and Teller while totally naked ! After the meeting, a few of us got together at Vernon's Pub to visit and talk magic, and I wound up getting invited to a dinner party in Vinny's honor the next evening, where I got to perform my Card Warp routine for everyone! Like I said, what a week!
