David Sousa Lecture

I recently had the privilege of attending a lecture here in Dallas by international FISM contest winning magician David Sousa, pictured here with me. David shared with all of us in attendance the knowledge and creative talents that went into his award-winning act. If you haven't seen David perform, just Google his name and you can watch the whole act set to music. It was fascinating to watch him take us step by step through each move and sleight that made the presentation work so well. Thanks to David Sousa and the Dallas Magic Clubs for hosting this most educational lecture. By the way, these lectures are open to anyone who has a serious interest in learning the art and craft of magic, and we have several more lectures and workshops coming up in the near future. Independent Electrical Contractor's Association Christmas Party

It was a huge party! I had a great time at The Wyndham Hotel in Dallas performing my strolling magic show for members of the Independent Electrical Contractor's Association for their sixtieth anniversary Christmas party. Yes, they have been in business for SIXTY years, educating apprentice electricians to work in the electrical industry. This was my second time to be invited to perform at one of their Christmas parties. A special thanks goes out to Marsha Hughes, Assistant Deputy Director of the school, to my right in the four-person photo, for hiring me to entertain at the party, and for introducing me to the talent and event coordinator of the hotel! This is the second hotel in a row this year that now has me on their list of preferred entertainers! Can you spot me sharing my magic with guests in the large group shot? That's me, right next to Waldo.

Penn & Teller Performance

For once, I actually got to be a part of the audience of a magic show, instead of the guy on stage. Penn & Teller, two of my all-time favorite magicians in the whole world, performed their fantastic stage magic show at The Winstar World Casino and Hotel in Oklahoma. They absolutely blew me away with their magic, and I got to meet Penn Jillette in person for the first time! Of course, THAT photo didn't turn out, thanks to a stranger that didn't know how to push a button on a camera. But I have some great memories of the event, and the Winstar Hotel went out of their way to make my stay an enjoyable one. I will definitely be going back to attend more shows there.
